Buying this way lets us build a genuinely high spec machine at a price that would be difficult to match building the same parts list yourself, once you account for the time, the risk of a bad part, and the fact that you would be paying full retail on every single component.

This is also why we build in small batches of 15 units rather than running an always available product line. When the market shifts, we shift with it, and the next batch is built around whichever combination of parts gives the strongest real world performance for the money at that moment.
